Nivea After Sun – #TravelEssentials
If there’s one thing hot skin needs after a day in the pool and sunshine and very un-British weather, it’s a good old dollop of moisturiser.
But normal moisturiser is no good for hot dry sun-kissed skin – it just makes you feel hotter and stickier.
A really good After Sun is essential – not just for any accidental burns (please just no, people, no burning), but just for that cool silky smoothness at the end of a long hot day.
And this new Nivea formula is the best we’ve tried – for the whole family.
I’ve always relied on an aloe vera gel – keep it in the fridge, and it feels fabulous when you apply it. But the effects don’t last long, and you find yourself constantly wanting to go back and put more on. Not so with the new Nivea After sun – though I was dubious about its ’24hr moisturisation’ claims, it definitely doesn’t need a second application, and your skin actually will stay soft and silky smooth.
It’s an essential, and one we won’t head anywhere sunny without.
We also tried some of the Nivea Protection range:
The Protect & Refresh range are great to use – especially if you happen to be alone – as they spray form any angle, go on in a nice cool lifght mist and are fab to always have to hand. However, they don’t go far – just a few days in the sun and you’ll need a new can.
The Protect & Bronze spray is a pump-action oil. It lasts well, though it can become tricky to keep pumping once you’ve applied some and have oily hands! You do also need the bottle the right way up, so applying to your own legs etc can be tricky – I found applying to my hands and then applying from there was the easiest way.
For me, you actually can’t go wrong with the old-fashion sun cream to keep the whole family safe when they’re playing in the sunshine. The bottle lasts for ages, it gives great coverage on the skin, is instantly effective and is fabulous value. What’s not to love?
